Passive Therapies
What is Ultrasound Therapy?
What conditions does Ultrasound Therapy treat?
At Ace Medical Care, we use Ultrasound Therapy to treat:
- Sprain and strains
- Bursitis
- Tendonitis
- Myofascial pain
There are several physiological effects associated with Ultrasound Therapy
- Increase tissue relaxation
- Stimulate blow flow
- Breaks down scar tissue and muscle adhesion
- Decrease swelling
- Decrease inflammation
- Decrease pain
Laser Therapy
What is Laser Therapy?
- Laser Therapy is a painless treatment that uses clinically tested wavelengths of light aka laser to penetrate the different layers of the skin, muscles, ligaments, tendons and bone.
- Laser therapy uses red infrared laser light.
- The laser emits a photochemical response to the cells of the targeted area. As the cell at the targeted area reacts to the light from the laser, it stimulates the cells and triggers a photochemical reaction that leads to a physiologic effect.
What conditions does Laser Therapy treat?
There are several physiological effects associated with Laser Therapy
- Acceleration / enhance of tissue healing
- Increased circulation
- Pain reduction
- Decreased inflammation
At Ace Medical Care Medical Center, we use Laser Therapy to treat:
- Musculoskeletal conditions (tendon, ligaments and muscle injuries)
- Inflammatory conditions (tendonitis, bursitis ,etc.)
- Disc herniations
- Acute pain
- Trigger points
- Headaches / Migraines
Cupping Therapy
What is Cupping?
Cupping is a myofascial /manual therapy technique and soft tissue modality that uses cups and a suction to create negative pressure between the myofascial layers of the skin.
As the negative pressure is produced with the suction, it loosens and lifts the connective tissue between the fascial and muscle layers at the targeted areas while:
- Decreasing pain and muscle spasm
- Increasing blood flow / circulation (increased blood flow brings oxygen and nutrient rich blood to the targeted area to promote healing)
- Decreasing muscle tightness
- Decreasing inflammation
- Improve range of motion and flexibility
What conditions does Cupping Therapy treat?
- Inflammatory conditions (tendonitis, bursitis ,etc.)
- Musculoskeletal conditions
- Disc herniations
- Trigger points
- Neck and back pain
- Headaches / Migraines
- Muscle spasms
Kinesiology Taping
What is Kinesiology Taping?
Kinesiology taping involves a special made stretchable tape that is applied over joints and/or specific muscle groups using specific techniques to:
- Improves the proprioception input of the sensory nervous system in the muscles, joints, and skin
- Facilitate motion and inhibits pain
- Aids in re-training/re-educating specific muscle groups that has lost/decrease function due to an injury
- Reduces pain by stabilizing and supporting specific muscle groups, joints and/or ligaments
- Reduce edema/swelling and inflammation
- Improves and increase circulation
What conditions does Kinesiology Tape help with?
At Ace Medical Care, we use Kinesiology Tape for:
- Joint and/or tendon pain ex. Tendonitis
- Muscular pain and aches
- Edema and Inflammation
- Muscle spasms
- Improve posture
